Kimpton de Witt Hotels, famous in America, have made the leap across the Atlantic and opened their first hotel in Europe – in the heart of Amsterdam. To be precise, perfectly located within walking distance of the train station, canals and museums, with bicycles for rent and the excellent in-house restaurant Wyers. But the Kimpton Group has stayed true to its DNA and created a boutique hotel consisting of three historic Renaissance buildings, designed from top to bottom. There is Dutch art on the walls, wooden swings to relax on in the courtyard, and the “house within a house” is particularly impressive – a three-storey suite in a 17th-century residence – perfect for those who can’t get enough privacy and luxury!
