The vegan restaurant Kopps at Koppenplatz in Mitte serves honest dishes made from regional and seasonal ingredients. No meat substitutes, but unexpected vegetable combinations that are vegan throughout. For example, there’s pumpkin gnocchi with fig chutney, celery hash browns with roasted cauliflower, or zucchini lasagna with tomato sauce and basil pesto. Some of the ingredients come from farms in the surrounding area, the rest from organic and Demeter wholesalers. Even 90 percent of the wines on offer meet these quality standards and are vegan. That is a rare occurrence. On top, we are thrilled by the courteous service. Insider tip: try absolutely to the “dessert” the oat truffle Cappuccino. It is simply heavenly!
