La Poule au Pot is an institution through and through in the Halles district, run by Jean-François Piège and his lovely wife. This restaurant is one of those places with soul, this place is bubbling over with conviviality and a family atmosphere. And this despite the fact that some high-profile stars have come and gone here – or perhaps because of it, because we all love the same thing. The Rolling Stines, Kate Moss, Johnny Hallyday have all sat here at some point. Not much else changes in this place over time either – the wallpaper remains the same, the Art Deco columns still stand proudly in place, as does the copper counter. And the menu? Classic French, of course – terrine de Bourgogne, Provençal scallops or veal kidneys with mustard seeds.
