Le Lappe

Le Lappe sits between Florence and Arezzo, in the barely tamed woods near Montevarchi, two interlinked buildings, one built on the ruins of a medieval watchtower, the other a former monastery. Maria Lorenza Benini opened the hotel in 2010 after years of restoration, and her son Niccolò de Feo, together with designer Remy Renzullo, has now reimagined it entirely: antiques sourced from European auction houses, hand-painted wall motifs by Florentine artist Assia Pallavicino, and ten of the eleven suites fitted with hydromassage tubs, fireplaces crackling throughout. In the restaurant, the estate’s own olive oil finds its way onto every plate, served in the winter garden or on the terrace beneath Tuscany’s night sky. Le Lappe is an experience in its own right, lovingly considered down to the last detail, run with the warmth Italy does so naturally, Tuscany, unfiltered.
