Near the Boulevard St-Germain, only a stone’s throw from the legendary Café aux Deux Maggots, is the former apartment of Eugène Delacroix. In 1857 the already old and infirm artist moved into the almost hidden, small rue de Furstenberg to save him long walks to the church St-Sulpice, where he was involved in church paintings. After is death in 1863, artist friends of him turned the apartment into a museum showing Delacroix’s works. This small and quiet place is a gem.
