Mies van der Rohe constructed in a modern way a “Greek Temple” out of 1.200 tons of steel. In analogy to the flexible quantity of forms of classical temples, the freedom of design for the “Artist Engineer” in the 20th century is restricted by the constructive industrial possibilities. On two levels of the building special large exhibitions take place.
