Oh how beautiful is Panama! In Berlin, Panama is really only a stone’s throw away, thanks to well-known restaurant owner Ludwig Cramer-Klett. After Katz Orange and Deli Candy on Bone, Cramer-Klett has now manifested a taste of Central America in a freshly renovated backyard of Potsdamer Strasse. Guests sit on classic Thonet chairs, with exotic plants scattered around, and the air has a touch of colonial style. If it wasn’t for the impressive ceiling-mounted installation by Björn Dahlem, you might just forget that you’re in Berlin. The menu also plays with a polarity of dishes, both near and far: whitefish with granola, red-beet cream and juniper-pear, tepid spinach salad with tahini and fermented onions, followed by lightly scorched marshmallows, smoked peppers and coffee-caramel. This will satisfy any wanderlust!
