Pantagruelica is no ordinary deli. Toni Sepeda is passionate about food, and always in search of the best ingredients, preferably organic. He certainly knows his stuff: “Organic certification is not always necessary” he told us, “Sometimes products are organic, but the certification process can be so expensive that smaller producers don’t bother with it.” The little shop was made famous by “Commissario Brunetti”, and its bread was mentioned in author Donna Leon’s thrillers. The Comissario raved about Pantagruelica’s pane pugliese as “the best in the city”, with his favourite Pecorino also being available at Toni’s.
