The Ponta da Piedade is indeed the tourist magnet in Lagos and is one of the most photographed places of the Algarve, but a visit to the impressive rock formations is nevertheless worthwhile. Mighty rocks form in front of the turquoise blue Atlantic an impressive landscape that is characterised by hidden bays and lonely beaches. Those who do not want to romp around with the other tourists on the headland have two possibilities: One route leads to the west, some two and a half kilometres along the coast to the beach Canavial, the other in direction Lagos to the São Camilo beach. The second route is a less well designed one, but it offers an even more spectacular view.
