Verduno itself is a small, rather sleepy village near Bra. There’s not much to discover here, but it’s worth driving here for the Trattoria dai Bercau. The large garden, partly covered, invites you to settle down and relax. The staff is young and lively and extremely friendly. From the starter to the dessert, you can enjoy the best Piedmontese cuisine. As a starter, for example, fried eggs with white truffles, the Primo from Tajerin, an egg ribbon noodle, with truffles, as Secondo costine di maiale al pelaverga, very tasty ribs – and then as Dolce the Panna Cotta from goat’s milk – there are first-class wines to go with it. This is what the operators themselves call down-home-cooking. The dishes surprise, despite the classic ingredients, the portions are rich and all this at a very fair price. Here everyone really gets his money’s worth. In the guest room there is a bright, cosy chaos of white walls, gnarled wooden doors and simple wooden tables – here the character of the young team is reflected, interpreting tradition with cheeky light-heartedness. The result is excellent, the restaurant is definitely an insider tip and a visit will definitely remain in your memory.
