Roman & William Guild NY is a marvel that combines restaurant, library, design gallery and flower shop. In short, designers Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch have created a New York aesthetic empire. The interior is reminiscent of Soho decades ago, when it was less posh and more raw: brick walls, wooden floorboards, loft-like rooms. In between, craftsmanship from all over the world, which visitors can buy in the showroom. Glassware by La Soufllerie, painted stone designs by Andrew McGarva, reindeer skins and sculptures by the artist Casey Zablocki and – unique to date – furniture by the Couple itself. Without exaggerating, in the Roman & William Guild you can spend a whole day, in the morning with a Flat White browsing the Phaidon bookstore, and later with a glass of wine and the delicious French soul food served in the accompanying restaurant La Mercerie.
