The rostige Anker is a charming, unagitated bistro right on the Rhine. To be more precise, it is located at harbour basin 1 in Basel’s Rhine harbour with a unique view of the busy shipping traffic in the border triangle. From March to the end of December, the rostige Anker offers a small but fine menu. You notice immediately that everything here is cooked fresh and seasonal. Be it the beetroot soup, the char filet or the beef stew with seasonal vegetables and poppy seed spaetzle. Honest and good cuisine is served here without any frills. Add to that the extremely friendly service and the prices, which are fair by Swiss standards.
