Founded in 1768, Royal Academy of Arts is one of Great Britain’s oldest institutions for visual arts, yet is anything but an outdated institution. Located in Piccadilly, right in the heart of London’s West End, it has a high reputation worldwide for organizing the best contemporary and travelling exhibitions in London. The permanent exhibition’s highlights include works by Gainsborough, Turner, and Hockney, as well as Michelangelo’s sculpture Taddei Tondo. Additionally, aspiring and current high-ranking names in the art scene, such as Ai Weiwei and Anish Kapoor, were also already present in the Academy’s rooms.
