There is a very special atmosphere at Scheepskameel. It is located right on the water, completely car-free on the historic Marineterrein. Outside, you can sit on a spacious terrace with a fantastic view of the city, while inside, you can enjoy long wooden tables in a light-filled former warehouse with industrial charm. You won’t find another location like this in Amsterdam. The culinary team – founded by the creators of the cult restaurant Rijsel – focuses on clear cuisine that concentrates on the essentials. The menu changes regularly and offers a deliberately reduced selection: ‘raw’ dishes such as tartare or ceviche, lovingly prepared vegetarian dishes, or high-quality meat and fresh fish – often for several people. However, Scheepskameel is particularly famous for its wines: the wine list, with a clear focus on German winemakers, has won several awards. Over 200 different wines, mainly Rieslings, but also Pinot Noir and Lemberger, are available for tasting. Well then – cheers!
