The Schranne is a classic weekly market and a paradise for market lovers. Early Thursday mornings finds farmers from the region diligently setting up their stalls on Mirabellplatz. Here you’ll find everything seasonal and fresh, from mountain chanterelles, fresh-caught fish, heirloom fruits, and local alpine cheeses to herbs, fresh-but flowers, and basketry. The small, specialty, organic purveyors are concentrated at the back end of the market going toward Schrannengasse. A favourite meeting spot for market-goers is the baked goods stand in front of the Andräkirche.
