The Taberna da Rua des Flores is a cosy tavern in the street of flowers. In the background runs Cesária Evoria and the menu, which can be found charmingly on a slate board, is as small as the room of the restaurant, but each of the dishes is simply fantastic. No wonder that even the locals are willing to wait almost two hours for a seat. Because reservations cannot be made – first come first serve. The best time to stop by is at 5 p.m., put yourself on the waiting list and have a good chance of sitting at one of the romantic tables at 7 p.m. And after the first sip of the excellent house wine, the waiting time is long forgotten, because no matter if the olives, the home-baked bread, the chickpeas with stockfish and coriander, the wafer-thin slices of swordfish or the chocolate mousse with brandy – here everything is a poem.
