The Tasca Jota is located a little off the tourist paths of Lagos, hidden in a residential area of the city and seems at first sight almost inconspicuous. But the modern Portuguese cuisine, the excellent price-performance ratio and the friendly service make the Tasca Jota an absolute favourite of the locals. The unagitated and quite simply furnished tavern offers beside excellent fish dishes like codfish in orange-coriander marinade, freshly grilled gilthead, ceviche or shrimps sautéed in ginger all kinds of petiscos (tapas). In addition there is wonderful local wine and for dessert a dream of white chocolate mousse. And of course there are almost exclusively locals at the tables.
