With the spacious Dá Licença estate, the former Parisian gallery owner from the 7th arrondissement, Franck Laigneau, with his partner Vitor Borges, has fulfilled a lifelong dream. Dá Licença is much more than just a boutique hotel that majestically towers over the Alentejo. The inspiration for the property came from the small Japanese island of Naoshima, which has been transformed into an art mecca. Thus in the Dá Licença one work of art follows the other, from the Jungedstil to the Wiener Secession to Nordic-inspired works. Equally artistic are the suites, almost all of which have angel skin marble bathtubs and anthroposophically carved furniture from the 1930s, an oasis of retreat in cork oaks and olive trees, an oasis of elegance.
