The Trattoria del Ciumbia is an absolute eye-catcher and the new place to be in Milan’s Brera district. Behind it are the makers of Vesta and Casa Fiori Chiari. Whilst these two addresses are not a total hit, the Trattoria del Ciumbia is absolutely worthwhile, especially for the eyes. Dimorestudio was commissioned to design the interior. They wanted to create a place that reflected the spirit of the artistic avant-garde of the 1960s. And voila – they succeeded with flying colours. The colours, the shapes, the materials, everything is on point. There is also a disco club on the ground floor for anyone who wants to move on after dinner. Of course, the food should not go unmentioned, which remains true to its Italian roots – the menu offers marinated sardines, risotto Milanese and all kinds of antipasti, primi and secondi piatti. A hyped restaurant that is not yet a classic, but is on the right track to becoming a modern interpretation of one.
