Valdirose

Valdirose sits in the hills of Lastra a Signa, just a few kilometres outside Florence and it is immediately clear that this place was created with enormous care and heart. Irene Berni transformed her family’s late-19th-century home into a charming bed & breakfast with just four rooms. Stonewashed linen, wooden furniture partly built by her husband Paolo, faded pastel tones and flea-market treasures that seem to carry their own stories. The glass veranda overlooking the beautifully overgrown garden filled with olive trees, lavender and rosemary is the true heart of the house. Mornings begin here with chiffon cake and homemade jam, evenings with long candlelit conversations. Florence is close enough for anyone craving the city’s energy — but most of the time, you simply want to stay at Valdirose.
