The Waterkloof Wine Estate is something very special. Situated on the edge of Somerset West, lonely on a mountain, you reach the “spaceship” after a short serpentine ride through the vineyards. From the outside, the central building looks like a cube made of concrete and glass that has been placed there for a long time. Architecturally one can certainly have different views on beauty and elegance, but in the end it is the inner values that count, namely the wine, the food and the hospitality. And all this is here on point. But before one even thinks about eating or drinking, one enjoys the view to the Atlantic Ocean and the False Bay, where one can never get enough of. Apart from the classic wine tasting, the Waterkloof Wine Estate also has a restaurant where you can enjoy excellent food – but it also has its price.
