You feel at home in Welgelegen as soon as you cross the threshold. The large lounge with the library and the soft, huge sofas invites you to drop down, a small fountain splashes in the green inner courtyard, the service is very friendly and attentive and on request you can book a spa treatment. The 13 rooms are spread over two villas and tastefully furnished in a mix of British charm, South African details and modern accents. Almost all rooms have their own balcony or terrace. Welgelegen is a charming, personal and at the same time affordable address and the perfect place for an uncomplicated city trip in a quiet residential street and yet only a stone’s throw from the famous Kloof Street.
