York House Hotel is a heavenly oasis right in the center of Lisbon. The former Carmelite monastery is hidden behind a thick rose-colored wall and offers 34 rooms furnished with a lot of attention to detail. The building, its rooms and green yard are simply gorgeous. It is a delight to start your day in Lisbon with breakfast next to the burbling pond while the birds are singing. Once you have climbed the stairs to the beautiful rock garden, you will not want to leave this cozy little place again. The whole place is a tasteful combination of a modern hotel and historic monastery. Service is extremely friendly and proud to have welcomed Jean Claude Van Damme among its guests.
