Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc

The Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc brings the laid-back Bikini spirit from Port de Sóller to the south of Mallorca – right by the sea in Colònia de Sant Jordi. Rather than building from scratch, an existing hotel has been completely transformed, and the result is a great success. Terracotta, natural wood, hand-woven fabrics, vintage finds and bold patterns come together with a lush garden featuring palm trees, giant cacti, tamarisk and Mediterranean grasses. The whole atmosphere is a bit hippy, very laid-back and yet perfectly harmonious. The rooms are bright, many with a balcony and sea views, but life really takes place outdoors: by the pool, in the many seating areas in the garden or at NENI with its Levantine cuisine designed for sharing. There’s also the GIN SUL Bar, yoga, a spa and plenty of music. Important to note: Colònia de Sant Jordi itself isn’t really a place we’d go to. That’s why you book the Bikini mainly for the hotel itself and are happy to stay there rather than heading out into the town in the evenings. The beautiful Es Trenc beach, just nearby, offers a welcome change of scene. It’s a great spot for a few days’ relaxation if the hotel’s design, food and atmosphere are more important to you than the rather unattractive town of Colònia de Sant Jordi – just don’t expect too much from the town itself.
