This small restaurant is a must for all fish and seafood-lovers. At the table next to the entrance, a trio of jolly fishermen and friends enjoy a meal. Guests sit in the second room, delighting in Carampane’s fried Molech pocketcrabs, easily the best in town. Restaurant propriator Francesco let us in on his secret: they are battered without egg, giving them their smooth consistency. Established by Francesco’s father and brother in 1997, Carampane remains a family restaurant– today it is operated by Francesco and his mother Piera Bortoluzzi Librai.
Whether you have the spaghetti with crab, or spicy pasta with tiny mussles and tomatoes, everything is done to perfection. We’d recommend one appetizer in particular, but don’t want to give away the surprise. With its delicious entrees and reasonable prices, you’ll want to eat there everyday!
