The Caruso Pasta Bar in the Agnesviertel is a great example of a modern interpretation of down-to-earth cuisine. The owners Marc and Nadine Flogaus are no strangers to the Cologne gastronomy scene. In fact, until recently they ran the gourmet restaurant Flogaus. But now the concept is bare wooden tables instead of starched blankets and without further ado, Metzger & Marie was born! German and Austrian wines are served alongside regional products, fish from sustainable fisheries and meat from German producers, Belgian fries and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. If you’re short on time, you can take advantage of the takeaway option – homemade specialties are offered in the form of jars to take away.
