The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Troia is considered one of the main works of Apulian Romanesque art and is famous for its façade with a large rose window. The bronze doors of the main portal and the pulpit inside the church are also of great artistic and historical value. The building is located in the centre of Troia on Via Regina Margherita, opposite a small square. In 1958 the cathedral was elevated by the Pope to the status of a “Basilica minor”.
