Das Hochgrat

Oberstaufen is pure Allgäu – mountain panorama, wooden houses and traditional costumes. And in the middle of Oberstaufen is “Das Hochgrat” – a hotel that sets a modern accent in this tradition. The rooms have a woody atmosphere, with lots of wood, but with a successful combination of wallpaper and materials, they appear light and warm. The hotel offers smaller double rooms, as well as more elaborate chalets, some of which have their own steam baths, or elaborate kitchens. Breakfast is served in the hotel’s own café, open and beautifully presented. There is a lot of local produce such as mountain cheese, forest honey and good bread as well as fresh rolls from the village, a classic breakfast with local accents. The hotel is simply so wonderfully centrally located that you can easily reach everything in the village on foot. Also the Hochgrat Bahn is not far away, which takes you quickly into the middle of the beautiful mountains. The in-house restaurant stands for modern cuisine and Allgäu specialities in a refreshingly modern interior.
