Gasthof Kohlern

Perched on a hill 1,130 metres above sea level, the Alpine inn Kohlern overlooks the rooftops of Bolzano, right next to a small chapel. Pure nature, fresh air, absolute tranquillity and a breathtaking view of the valley give us the feeling that time has stood still here. The inn has been open for around 60 years. Taken over by Paula and Anton Schrott in 1966, it is now run with great passion by their son Josef Schrott, the second generation of the family, with a natural modern touch. You can sense this continuity immediately. The rooms are stylishly and tastefully furnished, with a slight nostalgic touch. Some rooms combine this with modern elements. In summer, many people from the city come up for a few hours, sit on the terrace and order Spinatschlutzer or a hearty Herrengröst’l with bacon and cabbage salad. A special feature is the pool with panoramic views of the valley or the small spa area. A place that, through its location, cuisine and passion for hospitality, offers everything one could wish for in South Tyrol.
