Laughter makes you happy. Daniel Ettlinger’s recipe for success lies not only in his cooking, which he masters excellently, but also in his cheerfulness, which is infectious with its hearty laughter. The Alsatian’s restaurant may be somewhat hidden in the small hinterland village of Le Rouret, but it has long ceased to be an insider tip among gourmets. Inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, the star chef skilfully combines tradition with creativity. Whether the tartine with goat cheese and fresh figs with a light rosé, the risotto with white Alba truffles, the roasted chicken in Provençal style or summer berries on bourbon vanilla ice cream with white nougat, every course here is a delight. At lunchtime, guests are expected to be quick, and so many business people come here for lunch. In the evening, there are two menus that you can combine if you wish. If you want to enjoy Le Clos Saint Pierre to the full, you should definitely come in the evening. In a relaxed but stylish atmosphere, you sit on the idyllic terrace where the coloured lam pions strung between trees cast a cosy light and cicadas sing happily and it is midnight in no time. In high season, be sure to book a few days in advance.
