Le nove scodelle in Viale Monza is a little jewel of Sichuan cuisine. Le nove scodelle stands for the “nine bowls”. The number nine is an almost tantric number in China, it is the emperor’s magic number and in this restaurant it is honoured with a menu that includes nine bowls. Nine dishes, and what they are: gigantic portions for an imperial hunger. Prices are low considering the portions, between €8 and €16. The beef with vegetables in a spicy sauce with ginger and chives are an absolute must-order for us, simply heavenly good. Equally recommended are the hand-rolled noodles and the sea bream fillet with vegetables and pickled chilli in a broth spiced with coriander and sesame seeds. In short, if you want a change from Italian cuisine, this is the place for you.
