A most beautiful 360-degree views opens from the rooftop bar of the Marmara Pera hotel. Sitting in the open air with a drink on balmy evenings and looking out over the city – perched beautifully on the Bosporus – is just perfect, and even manages to overcome the rather unattractive building opposite. The bar, which belongs to the gourmet restaurant Mikla, which offers Scandinavian-influenced cuisine, can also be visited separately from 6 pm onwards, in time for the sunset. The restaurant enjoys a first-class reputation in Istanbul.
