The wonderful old entrance leads directly into the land of milk and honey. In a stunning room, complete with blazing fire in winter, one is barely seated when without a word the most delicious starters, warm croissants, prociutto and prosecco are served. Aghast at the quantities, replete and happy one is given the menu. After an unforgettable soufflé with a fine vegetable sauce we experience our main course, polenta with mushrooms in a trance-like state. We can only marvel at the generous dessert buffet. The bill, which amounts to 35 ? fixed price, couldn’t possibly be right. A smart travelling favourite.
