Ottmanngut

There are places like the Ottmanngut, where you immediately feel at home. The Ottmanngut Suite & Breakfast in Meran, South Tyrol – a Bed & Breakfast, or better, a “temporary home” that satisfies our time-out desires with a lot of ease, slowness and love – for peace and quiet, for authenticity and simplicity, for tradition and modernity – paired with inspiring conversations under palm trees & cypresses in the sight of the magnificent South Tyrolean mountain scenery. Only a few years ago the hotel was run by grandmother Martha in a strict regiment, but now the children have taken over the management and turned the then still dusty jewelry box into a jewel of lived Merano history. Actually, one falls in love with this place as soon as one enters the garden, looks at the vineyards and has one’s coffee served by Martin. The nine rooms of the aforementioned Suite & Breakfast all seem to have fallen out of time with their loving furnishings of antique furniture and old wooden or terrazzo floors. Breakfast is served in the orangery or in the Mediterranean garden with palm trees and cypresses. One thing should be said, it is incredibly difficult to leave here again.
