This grand and idiosyncratic palace from the 14th century, close to the Egyptian temple gives the visitor an impression of how Madrid`s upper class used to live. After his death in 1922, the Marquis of Cerralbo transmitted his palace to the state, under the condition of remaining everything as it is. Besides many interesting antiques, paintings by El Greco, Rebera, Zurbarán and Goya can be seen. The most amazing painting of the collection is El Greco`s „Saint Francis in ecstasy“
