Since the Vismet attracts tourists and locals in equal measure by now, it can no longer be considered an insider’s tip. It is, however, still a classic among fish restaurant in Brussels, and that justifiably so. The menu, featuring mostly fish and other seafood, all of which is prepared with lots of love, is small but good. Rumor has it that the owner’s mother still peels the North Sea prawn with her own two hands.
If you are looking for a quieter establishment, this place is not for you. The sound of clattering dishes carries from the open kitchen and the loud babble of other guests fills the restaurant. Nonetheless, or perhaps just because of this, the predominant mood is a relaxed one, one that compliments the white tablecloths and light wooden furnishings.
