Hôtel Windsor

The garden of this hotel is among the most beautiful to be found. No, it’s not at all grand or pretentious. It’s actually unusually intimate and lush, the perfect place to eat breakfast, sip an aperitif or take a dip in the delightful swimming pool. In the 19th century building itself an atmosphere of nonchalance prevails. It’s very tranquil and in the immediate area of Nice’s famed Promenade des Anglais. There is a serenity and self-confidence here which flows through the large rooms, each of which express their own character. Everything from the colours on the wall to the patterns of the bedclothes is immaculate. Grand frescoes or works by famous artists grace the walls, so when you luxuriate in your room you might look up to see a piece from the likes of Lawrence Weiner hanging above your bed, or find yourself conversing with a Raymond Hains self-portrait.
