Those who check into the San Domenico are immersed in the Victorian era. The majestic red-brick building dating from 1887 near the King’s Road in upmarket Chelsea couldn’t exude more London and Downton Abbey vibes. The San Domenico Hotel has just 19 rooms – all lovingly filled with antiques and works of art from the 18th and 19th centuries. The lobby here is a charming living room where you can settle down on the cosy sofas with a cup of tea – a perfect place to take a deep breath from hectic London. Incidentally, the hotel is owned by an Italian family who own a small hotel empire in Puglia alongside the San Domenico Hotel. The friendly Italian touch has of course also arrived here in London and so, in addition to tea, a delicious cappuccino is also served in the living room.
