Somehow, it just works! A wellness hotel without anything luxurious, nor even cosy, yet fitted with everything the modern nomad loves and needs to feel comfortable and stylish. That means: containers hanging from the lobby’s ceiling; you sitting on hip vintage stools or seat-boxes in the window and spooning up your scrambled eggs with speck, chosen from the extensive breakfast buffet. Next to the reception is a kiosk where you can pick up supplies – from a newspaper to the ultimate souvenir – and on the first floor you can listen to old vinyls in the music lounge, or chill in the “living room”. The bedrooms mirror the port theme: there are rope ladders, sailor’s chests, cabins, logbooks and teddy bears to help alleviate homesickness. Even though the building is brand new, one has a sense of things telling a story, and when you awake in the morning you know without a doubt that you have slept in the port, and that you’ll take a piece of Hamburg with you. In the evenings you can also stay right here for dinner. The Hamburg scene comes to you, and you can enjoy staying in after a long day.
