Domain de Fontenille

The Provençal estate, Domaine de Fontanelle, in the heart of Provence, around 25 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, is picture-perfect in every respect. The Domaine has been family-owned since 1864 and is now run and preserved by Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontanel. Above all, it preserves the essence of the elegant French art of living. Guests can look forward to sprawling gardens and lovingly designed rooms, which could not be better suited to a short break from everyday life. There is also plenty on offer culturally, as the old wine cellar hosts changing exhibitions curated in collaboration with international galleries and museums. Restaurant: Culinary delights are provided by none other than Michelin-starred chef Jérôme Faure. In the evening, guests can choose between the gourmet restaurant ‘Le Champe des Lunes’ and the slightly more casual bistro ‘La Cuisine d’Amélie’. Both specialise in farm-to-table cuisine and offer an outstanding selection of wines. Pierre and Marie-Claude are among the more modest winemakers in Roussillon. They do not particularly enjoy being in the limelight, though that is certainly where their wines belong.
