In winter you can easily walk right past Herr Max because of the high windows are all steamed up by the talkative guests inside. In summer however, the large facade reminds you of a huge aquarium filled with the local species – the inhabitants of Schulterblatt. A further highlight is the art nouveau tiles, in the most beautiful colours, from the days when the cafe used to be a butchers store. Today, they have a counter filled with fresh cakes and sandwiches, standing in the middle of the room. You sometimes queue up in front of the counter because self-service is a part of their concept.
